Run by Hayden of Curvatecture, Australia's leading SuperAdobe specialist.
We will be building a first for Curvatecture, by constructing a fire-powered SuperAdobe Dome Sauna! Plus an ajoined SuperAdobe fire-powered hot tub! What a combo! This is possuibly a world first! And we are so thrilled to be undertaking such a unique and awesome project on our property.
We will be laying all the bags for both structures, and beginning on the plastering for both toward the end of the week
The dome shape is synonymous with SuperAdobe, and is such a special type of building to build. Come and learn the deep intricacy and nuance of these magical buildings.
You will learn the History of SuperAdobe, it's design features and implimentaions, how to design and build with it in all scenarios, exactly how to lay bag and what goes into it, and hopefully will leave completely equipped to build your own structures and features from the amazing SuperAdobe.
You will also have classes on Introduction to Natural Building, how to hunt and identify your own wild clay, and then how to use that clay in a myriad of Natural Building technologies. There are some lovely examples already on the property, and we will be getting busy making a great addition to them!
This is a course designed for those wanting a full immersion in this amazing technology
Curvatecture's workshops are second to none for exhaustive educational material, thorough theory and practical experience, plus lots of additional classes and mini-workshops along the way, all being founded on Hayden's last 10 years of working full time with Earthbag and Natural Building technologies.
3 meals deliciously cooked each day, supplied camping spot to call home for the week, and a great bunch of new friends to work and play with all week.
There will also be lovely things planned like mediation sessions in the existing SuperAdobe dome on the property, bush walks, bonfires, sharing circles, and lots of great activities to make you feel connected and grounded in this amzing part of the world.
The Beremboke Bush Retreat is nestled in the Brisbane Ranges National Park, just 1 hr from Melbourne. We are on 20acres of serence eucalyptus forest, with patches of Grass trees and other beautiful species. Lots of kangaroos, wallabies, birdlife, and other furry friends to get to know as you head out for a bushwalk into the forest.
